Welcome to the beautiful Homer Martin Ranch located in Mason County, the heart of the Texas Hill Country! Bordered on the north by the Llano River, the ranch boasts two miles of river front property, including the gargantuan cretaceous cliffs featured on the cover of Texas Monthly. Rolling limestone hills covered by live oak, post oak, mesquite, whitebrush, persimmon, and prickly pair cover this 2,500 acre spread!
The ranch has been in the Martin family for 6 generations, and for more than 60 years, visitors from across Texas have come to experience the splendor of the countryside. These days, we continue to swing open the gates to our home, by hosting family reunions, Christian youth groups, weddings, and corporate retreats.
While you’re here, you can mountain bike on the ranch’s numerous trails, kayak down the Llano River, hike the hills of the countryside, go for a dip in Bast Creek, gather around the campfire for storytelling, play yard games and more.
Interested in a fun family day trip off the ranch? The quaint German town of Fredericksburg is a pleasant drive down the road and is a great place for antiquing, shopping and dining. The Homer Martin Ranch is also located close to the Eckert James River Bat Cave Preserve, one of the largest bat nurseries in the country!
If you have the hunter’s instinct, you’ll be happy to hear that the Homer Martin Ranch happens to be located in an area with the highest whitetail deer density in the world. During deer hunting season, we offer bow-hunting packages. We also welcome turkey and hog hunters. Over 90 percent of hunters return the next year! So if you’re interested, we recommend making reservations far in advance.
Homer Martin and his children, Alana and Jonathan, are proud to extend the true flavor of a Texas Hill Country vacation. Take a break from the city and enjoy all that we have to offer!
